UMCOR Connecting Neighbors Training This Weekend West End UMC is hosting the United Methodist Committee on Relief's disaster training, "Connecting Neighbors," on September 11 in Nashville. Participants can attend in person or online via zoom. Please note: this training is a follow-up session to the initial learning luncheon during the TWK Annual Conference. Learn more and register now. Disaster Response Supplies for Kentucky - AND Mississippi | Sept. 17 & 24 Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference will be gathering cleaning and hygiene kits on September 17 & 24 to benefit the Kentucky and Mississippi Conferences. Please bring assembed kits to drop-off locations on the specified dates/times noted on the conference website: home page. Triumph Over Trauma Resource Available Trauma comes in many forms and can have severe, long-lasting effects on individuals, families, and communities. Triumph Over Trauma begins with a 7-week psychoeducational program that aids people on their journey to recovery. Volunteer facilitators are trained and equipped to lead a group in a creative, faith-affirming way. Learn more... TWK Church & Society | Suicide Prevention Awareness Month Call to Action September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, and the TWK Church and Society team has published a call to action. Read more and get involved. ENCORE Video Available This 3-minute video gives an overview of ENCORE Ministry, the official older adult ministry of the TWK Conference, and ENCORE Ministry Sunday. A special offering supporting intentional ministry by, with, and for adults in the TWK Conference is taken on ENCORE Ministry Sunday, which is this Sunday, Sept. 11 (or on another September Sunday you choose). Lakeshore Camp & Retreat Center | Older Elementary Retreat The Lakeshore Camp & Retreat Center is hosting an older elementary retreat on Sept. 23-25. The retreat will explore what constitutes a "Difference Maker," an ordinary person who accomplishes extraordinary things by creating positive change in their community and in the lives of others, as well as how to become one.
