TWK Organizational Meeting | Save the Date: Dec. 4 A "save the date" email was sent out yesterday to the clergy and lay delegates elected at church Charge Conferences in 2020 to serve at the Memphis and Tennessee Annual Conferences in 2021 (i.e. those elected to vote in June 2021). If you are in this group, let us know if you did NOT receive that message. New voting codes will be distributed next month to eligible voters and we want to be sure the list is accurate! More information is available at https://twkumc.org/organizational-meeting/ TWK Youth Ministry Transition Team Beginning Its Work Youth ministry leadership of the newly forming Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference is taking the next steps toward establishing a new thing in youth ministry for the Nashville Episcopal Area of the UMC. The newly established team met for the first time on September 26 & 28 for its QuickStart launch with consultants from Ministry Architects. More New Dates Announced for BaSE and Safe Sanctuary Training Please note that the dates have changed for Boundaries and Sexual Ethics Training (BaSE) and for Safe Sanctuary Training. Registration is available for these classes which now will be offered on November 12 and 13. More information Who Oversees Your Church's Older Adult Ministry? The ENCORE Ministry Committee invites you to complete the Older Adult Ministry Report for 2021. Committee members use the information received to provide resources and training opportunities for leaders in older adult ministry. The report information is also a source for best practices ideas for older adult ministry. More information Lay Servant Ministry The Red River District will offer Basic and Advanced Lay Servant Training during October-November, 2021. These courses will be offered via Zoom and are available to all laity from the Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference. We also welcome supply pastors to join in this training. Open Table Nashville Fundraiser Join Open Table Nashville (OTN) on October 21 at 6 p.m. for a live stream of their annual fundraiser celebrating 11 years of housing, healing, and hope in the Nashville community! They're planning an evening of music, awards, and messages from friends! They will also have swag bags, OTN t-shirts, and an online silent auction full of local items to bid on! Details Hinton to Host Sanctuary Gardens Conference, with Terry Hershey Hinton Rural Life Center welcomes nationally known author, speaker, minister, and passionate gardener Terry Hershey to lead “Life in the Garden: Mindfulness, Grace, and the Power of Presence,” a conference and retreat for those who experience — or who want to experience — gardens as restorative, inspiring, and life-giving. Those participating in the upcoming November 5-7 event will celebrate gardens, gardeners, and the role of gardens and gardening in our spiritual journey. Click here for more information. Hannah's Hope Seeks Financial Support Hannah's Hope needs a foundation of Partners of Hope who will commit to raising $5000 (or another amount suitable for your group) to sustain this ministry. Your church community has been an active participant in our Baby Bottles of Hope campaign in the past, and we are hopeful you will partner with us in this new way during this time of COVID-19.
