Registration is Open for the TWK 2023 Annual Conference

Our theme, Abide in Christ, provides our framework for planning Bible study, story sharing, and an experiential invitation to slow down and abide in Him. We are thrilled to include a presentation by General Secretary, Dr. Ashley Boggan, General Commission on Archives and History and preaching by Bishop McAlilly, TWK's Rev. Dr. Erin Beasley, and Bishop Gregory Palmer from the West Ohio Conference. More

REGISTER NOW!Everyone who plans to vote needs to register, as do guests coming to Memphis. You can watch and vote online, but you do not want to miss the workshops and immersion experiences only to be offered for those who attend in Memphis! Please register for Lunch & Learn meals by May 19.


Reservations for the Clergy Retiree Luncheon to be held on Tuesday, June 20, need to be made by May 18. Please contact melinda.parker@twkumc.org.

SINGERS from churches and ministries are invited to join the TWK Mass Choir. We will provide music for the Annual Conference worship services June 19 – 21, 2023, in Memphis. The goal is 100+ voices and ALL are welcome. More information and rehearsal locations.


The TWK Black Methodist for Church Renewal (BMCR) team will host a dinner at the annual conference around the theme, “Standing on the Promises,” grounded in Isaiah 40:31. The dinner will be on Monday evening, June 19, at 6:30 p.m. Registration for the dinner is $50. Learn more and register now.

Keys to Living & Aging Well: Mental Health & Social Connection Webinar AgeWell launched a free webinar series called Keys to Living and Aging Well in partnership with ENCORE Ministries, GNRC-Area Agency on Aging & Disability, Jewish Family Services, and the YMCA of Middle TN. The next webinar is on Tuesday, May 16, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Learn more and register. Join Other Churches and Individuals in the Conference-wide Bible Study! As we prepare our hearts and minds for the annual conference, Bishop McAlilly invites you to participate in a conference-wide Bible study, "Abide in Christ." TWK Disaster Recovery Connection | A Message to Nashville-Area Churches Tyler Nicodem, the Volunteer Coordinator for the TWK Disaster Recovery Connection, is available to visit with Nashville-area churches to share about opportunities for your members to serve with this ministry as well as discuss the organization's goals for 2023 and 2024. Small Membership Church Improvement Grant Application At the 2022 TWK Annual Conference, a resolution was passed regarding property, especially as it has related to small membership churches and the need for improvement grants. GCFA Releases Quarterly General Church Finances The General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA) of the United Methodist Church has released financial updates on general Church apportionment collections through the first quarter of 2023. Watch or read the report here. 2023 Academy of Church Business Administration in Nashville The UMC General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA) will host the 2023 Academy of Church Business Administration on June 20-30 in Nashville. The ACBA delivers high-quality education and certification programs to help church business administrators excel. Learn more and register. Professional Administrators of the United Methodist Connectional Structure (PAUMCS) | Basic & Advanced Certification Classes The General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA) of The United Methodist Church sponsors an online certification institute, the Professional Administrators of the United Methodist Connection Structure (PAUMCS). There is a basic certification class (June 1-August 13), as well as an advanced certification class (August 27-30). Learn more and register. Special Session Called for Disaffiliations | May 22 @ 7 p.m. Last fall, Bishop McAlilly made the call for two special annual conference sessions, in May and in November, for the sole purpose of voting on disaffiliations. The first of these will be conducted online on Monday, May 22, at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will last about an hour and will be live-streamed from the conference website. Materials to be voted on comprise a Consent Agenda that is now available for voting members to review and prepare to vote. Read more. Voting codes will be sent from GNTV via email next week. Hope Amid Disaffiliations More than 80 percent of the 840 local churches in the Tennessee-Western Kentucky Annual Conference have chosen to remain faithful to the United Methodist Church.
