Disaster Response Still Needs Your Support! Volunteer & Give | Read Stories It was this week two years ago that devastating tornadoes hit our conference. The guiding principle for our UMCOR-trained teams is: “Early in and last out” and our conference's long-term recovery caseworkers are still helping survivors of those 2020 tornadoes in Davidson, Wilson, Putnam Counties. In addition, we have teams on the ground assisting with work related to the Dec '21 Tornadoes in western Tennessee and Kentucky, the Aug '21 Flood in Humphreys Co., and the Mar '21 Floods in Davidson & Wilson Co. Thank you for your continued support!

TWK Anti-Racism Coalition | Talking Race, Racism, & White Privilege w/ Children Join the TWK Anti-Racism Coalition for a 90-minute workshop where they will unpack myths and look at age-appropriate strategies for talking about race for the preschool years, elementary years, and middle/high school years. There will be two workshops: one on March 24 (2:00 p.m.) and another on March 31 (7:00 p.m.). Learn more and register here. UMC Discipleship Ministries | Clergy Tax and Church Budget Seminars UMC Discipleship Ministries recently held an online webinar, "Clergy: Get Smarter About Your Taxes," which they recorded and have made available. Also, on Tues., March 22, they are hosting an online webinar dedicated to the discussion of the "giving and receiving portion of Church money management." Learn more and register here. Native American Ministry Sunday Resource Retreat | Save the Date On April 2, Blakemore UMC will host a one-day retreat to explore the resources to celebrate and recognize Native American Ministry Sunday, which is May 1. UM General Board of Church & Society | Ethnic Young Adult Scholarship Deadline Extension The UM General Board of Church & Society has extended its Ethnic Young Adult Internship Scholarship deadline to March 20. Apply now. United Methodist Communications (UMCom) | Hybrid Worship Training Course UMCom recently developed a training course dedicated to helping churches grow more comfortable with and capable of organizing hybrid services. American Climate Leadership Summit Creation Justice Ministries' Co-Executive Director, Avery Davis Lamb, will be facilitating a panel at this year's American Climate Leadership Summit (ACLS 2022): "From Disaster Relief to Climate Action." Wespath | "First Aid for Mental Health" In an effort to increase empathy, awareness, and competency in the UMC regarding mental health crises, Wespath is offering a "First Aid for Mental Health" training for all its participants--at no cost. These two trainings will occur on March 10 and 24. Learn more and register here. Miriam's Promise | "Search and Reunion" Webinar Join Miriam's Promise at 6:30 p.m. on March 17 for a webinar, "Search and Reunion," that addresses the work that needs to be done before someone begins a search for biological parents. Learn about the potential scenarios that can be encountered and how to navigate the emotional and legal aspects of the search. Register here.
