Reports and Resolutions Deadline is this Monday, April 18 Please follow the submission guidelines for annual conference reports and resolutions. Retired Clergy - Please Respond! A letter will arrive in the mail next week with information about the Clergy Retiree Luncheon. Note: If you have not received a letter or email and would like to attend the Clergy Retiree Luncheon, please send an email to mparker@twkumc.org by May 25. Seating is limited. If you are a member of the 2022 Class of Retirees, please let us know if you wish to participate in the annual conference video project by contacting us at AC2022@twkumc.org. Denman Award Nominations Due May 5 The Harry Denman Evangelism Award program honors United Methodists in each annual conference whose exceptional ministry of evangelism – expressed in Word, Sign, and Deed – brings people into a life-transforming relationship with Jesus Christ. The TWK Evangelism Team and the Foundation for Evangelism can recognize one youth, one clergy, and one layperson each year in the Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference. Learn more.

College Scholarship Deadline Extended The Tom and Betty Cloyd Scholarship deadline for the 2022 academic year has been extended to May 30, 2022. More info St. Matthew's UMC Partners With Memphis Nonprofits, UMCs in Homeless Outreach Read this inspiring story about St. Matthew's UMC's outreach with unhoused women and children in Memphis. TWK United Methodist Men (UMM) | "The Gathering" (Formerly, "FrogJump") On April 19 at the Mississippi River District's Ripley First UMC, the TWK UMM is hosting "The Gathering," a great opportunity for fun, fellowship, food, and singing. TWK Commission on Religion and Race (CORR) | Anti-Racism Survey The new TWK CORR team would like to convene those in the conference engaging in anti-racism work. Please use the link to complete the survey as they seek to learn about what is already happening around the conference. The listening session hosted by CORR will gather via Zoom on Thursday, April 28 at 6 pm. The Zoom link will be sent out on the morning of April 28 to those who complete the survey. Connecting Neighbors | "Disaster Ready Congregations" Webinar The TWK Disaster Response Committee is hosting the Connecting Neighbors program, which helps train congregations to be prepared for action in the event of a disaster, so the church can be a blessing to others in their affected communities. This Connecting Neighbors overview will help begin identifying ambassadors to support Disaster Ministries at the local church level. The training will be on May 15 at 2 p.m. with both an in-person and online option: participants can either join at West End UMC in Nashville or via Zoom. Online participants will receive the Zoom link on May 14. Register now. Red River District Lay Ministry Classes The Red River District is hosting lay ministry classes in May that are open to laity from across the conference. Learn more and register. How to Develop a Wings of Hope Chapter for Widows or Widowers Pat Brandenstein, one of the founders of Wings of Hope, will share information about starting a chapter. The program will be on Saturday, May 14 at 9 a.m. at New Providence UMC, 1317 Fort Campbell Blvd., Clarksville, TN 37042. For more information about Wings of Hope, click here. Miriam's Promise | Ignite the Passion After meeting virtually for two consecutive years, Miriam's Promise is hosting its annual fundraising dinner, "Ignite the Promise," in person on April 29 in Liberty Hall at The Factory in Franklin.
