Clergy Commit to Remembering the Lives of All Nashvillians A group of Nashville clergy, including the lead pastor of City Road Chapel UMC, Rev. Jay Voorhees, recently helped memorialize Nashvillians who were either abandoned or lacked financial resources for a private funeral, with Metro Nashville's "Indigent Burial Program." Read the story. Get involved with the Indigent Burial Program and "Call The Name" More Research Study Update The bishop and leadership team want to thank you for the quick response to participate in the December research study. Access to the screener form is now closed as we have more willing participants than the system can handle! Those randomly selected to participate will be contacted 24-48 hours before the discussion board opens in December. The United Methodist Strengthening the Black Church for the 21st Century will kick off its 25th-anniversary celebration during the group's Dec. 1-2, 2021 conference, "Shift Happens: Doing Ministry from the Right Side," held at St. John's UMC in Houston. Those interested in attending can do so either in-person or online. Learn more about the conference here. "Pastoring in the Digital Age" Podcast Offers Helpful Tips Steven Adair, an active member of Glendale UMC and the Director of Local Church Services at UMCom, was recently featured on an episode of the podcast, "Pastoring in the Digital Age." The episode explores the question: "How can churches move people from passive viewership to active membership in an online context?" Listen here. Golden Cross Foundation and ENCORE Ministry Committee To Become ENCORE Ministry | Tennessee Conference When the calendar flips to 2022, ENCORE Ministry will be the combined organizational name for two entities of the Tennessee Conference that will unite to support older adult ministry in the Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference. The current entities are the Golden Cross Foundation and the ENCORE Ministry Committee. Read more here. Chaplain Bradley offers us a bit about her background, ministry focus, and vision for Wesley Living in this introduction! TWK Conference Position Opening | Administrative Assistant-Equip This position supports the work of the Ministry Associate-Equip and the Equip Strategy Team, encompassing work with the Board of Ordained Ministry and Board of Laity, in support of the process for credentialing lay and clergy candidates for ministry in the Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference, continuing education, inclusive training and safe spaces, as well as, resourcing the additional ministries supported by the Equip Strategy Team, including but not limited to the Board of Higher Ed and Campus Ministry, Camping and Retreat Ministry, and Missional Innovation.
