Clergy Appointments

Appointive cabinet sessions were completed last week and clergy moves were announced during worship last weekend. Bishop McAlilly and Rev. Scott Aleridge explain the appointment process and provide the 2021 appointive timeline in this March 5 blog post. More


Olds Scholarship Available

The Foundation of the Brentwood UMC has offered a scholarship in the name of the beloved late Pastor Howard Olds for over a decade. It is available to candidates for a Master of Divinity or similar educational program. The eligibility criteria have recently changed and they hope that you may be able to steer a qualified applicant to this incredible opportunity. Details


Youth Ministry Opportunity to Have Your Voice Heard!


Ministry Architects is beginning their work with the future TWK conference to build a new youth ministry. At this point in time, they want to hear from the people most involved in ministry with young people, and with teenagers as well, through a series of listening sessions geared to gather as much input as possible. Their first session will be held on April 20 through Zoom for the Caney Fork, Red River, and Metro Districts. Learn More


TNUMC Disaster Recovery Awarded $10,000 Grant

United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) awarded the TNUMC Disaster Recovery team a $10,000 grant to help with flood recovery work after storms in late March. The funds will be used to continue casework for those most affected by the storms and further their recovery efforts. More

Discipleship Ministries published "Things You Should Know Before You Get Ready to Sing" compiling resources from the CDC and other faith-based and scientific sources about safe ways to gather and worship. Funeral Financial Assistance

Please share with members of your faith communities who have lost a loved one due to COVID that funeral reimbursements are now available from FEMA. For more information go to the FEMA website.

The submission deadline for annual conference reports, resolutions, and by-laws changes is May 1, 2021.


The deadline also is May 1 for Denman Evangelism Award submissions in both conferences.
