SEJ College of Bishops call for Special Session


During the session, delegates will vote to authorize the formation of the Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference of The United Methodist Church. They also will receive a report from the Southeastern Jurisdiction on the pandemic response in the jurisdiction and the work of antiracism across the jurisdiction and the work of the jurisdiction moving forward into the next 18 months. More

Annual Conference Voting Codes and Links

Thank you for your patience as we have worked hard to make sure the annual conference voting lists are accurate. Voting codes will be sent from a GNTV email address. Please check your spam folder if you have not received a voting code with the training session link by your conference's first training day. (May 28 for Memphis; June 7 for Tennessee). Contact your district administrator if you are eligible to vote and do not receive that message. (Alternates only receive codes when they are called in to replace a voting member.)


Service of Licensing, Commissioning, and Ordination | June 19

Tennessee Conference and Memphis Conference candidates will participate together. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, this will be live-streamed.





Conference Histories to be Celebrated during Annual Conferences

The rich histories of both the Memphis Conference and the Tennessee Conference will be celebrated with video presentations during their 2021 annual conference sessions. More


New Podcast Focuses on Anti-Racism As Christian Discipleship

“Expanding the Table,” a new video podcast series from the General Commission on Religion and Race, will debut on Tuesday, June 1. Series guests will focus on how individual Christians and church-based entities can and should engage the work of racial justice-making and anti-racism. More


Memphis and Tennessee Conference UMW Grows Together

The United Methodist Women's groups from both the Tennessee and Memphis conferences met together both at Beersheba and at Lakeshore. It was here that they found that they share more similarities than differences and can even use their differences to make the groups stronger. Read


Grants Available for Local Church Racial/Ethnic Ministries

Grants up to $10,000 will be available this fall from Discipleship Ministries to strengthen leadership training, small groups, worship, stewardship, and spiritual formation in ethnic local United Methodist churches. More

Matching Gift To Support Golden Cross Foundation Grant Programs An individual donor has agreed to give the Golden Cross Foundation $25,000 in 2021 to further the work supported by the foundation’s grants for older adult ministry. If matched, this gift will be the largest single gift from an individual donor that the foundation has received since its beginning in 2013. Learn more


Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare names Methodist South Hospital president

After a nationwide search, Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare named Ocpivia Stafford, PharmD, MBA, president of Methodist South Hospital in Whitehaven. Stafford has served as interim president for the 156-bed hospital since last November. Read more





Renfro Trust Fund – Grants for Small Rural Churches


The Renfro Trust Fund awards annual bricks-and-mortar grants to small rural United Methodist congregations in the Southeastern Jurisdiction. The deadline for applications is August 1, 2021.


The Renfro Trust Fund Application has recently been updated; an online fillable version of the Application is available as well as a printable version. Guidelines must be followed completely for applications to be considered.
