Prayer from Dr. Davis
Almighty God, we come this morning standing, kneeling, and bowing in your Presence. Pray for us Lord Jesus!
According to National Public Radio, there have been 194 mass shootings so far in our country this year.
There are grieving families who cannot find peace when innocent children are shot in their car seats.
There are growing acts of violence against our brothers and sisters because of their race.
No matter how resilient we have been, we can do nothing without You gracious God pouring Your Spirit into our situation.
Heart disease, diabetes, accidents and cancer have not taken a break…and we grieve
Now that school is out, there will be more hungry children who depended on school lunches…help us to bless them
Some hot tempers and harsh words have broken relationships this past week…help us to remember that all of us are made in your image
There have been patients who did not hear favorable words from their doctors…Lord have mercy
Through it all, we have learned to totally depend on You Jesus! You are our Friend, our Guide, our Hope, our Company Keeper and our Great Physician.
On this Memorial Day weekend, we pray for peace and ask your blessings on those who serve our country.
We listen for your voice O’ God to speak peace to our raging storms...
We listen for your voice to speak comfort to days and nights of pain wracked bodies.
We listen for your voice to discern the directions and steps we should take.
We listen for your still small voice to speak to our spirits and say, “Here I am.”
Speak Lord, for your people are listening for a word... listening for their name... listening for your stillness.
Come Lord Jesus!
